Zero to hero antics on the snow usually doesn’t end well – Skiing and snowboarding use different muscles, so to ensure you enjoy your time on the slopes, – it is worth doing some specific ski or snow boarding exercises as well as general fitness so you can get maximum out of your snow time. Also remember your sunscreens, high SPF lip protection and goggles/sun glasses as, although it is winter there is reflection of sun from the snow which can result in severe sunburn, cause snow blindness and trigger cold sores.

If you do have any accidents or problems whilst on the slopes make us your first port of call so we can advise you on further treatment, analgesia requirements and fitness to work. All of our GPs have an interest in muskuloskeletal medicine and lots of experience with snow sports injuries.
